'Teaching English as a Foreign Language' (TEFL)
There is a high demand for English Teachers abroad, especially in countries
such as China, Japan, Thailand, Australia, and in Europe. You can also
teach English as a foreign language in England, for examples: at universities
or language centres.
Training to become an English teacher is a great way to travel the world,
experience new cultures and to meet new people. It also enhances your CV
and looks impressive to future employers.
How does TEFL work?
There are various courses which you can apply for. You can take a course in
person at a specific location, or you can take an online course. There are
also taster days and introduction courses. Below are some examples of the
variety of courses.
In Person:
- 20 Hours, over 2 days (weekend) at a specific venue, such as a hotel
- 4 Week intensive full time course
Online:
The online courses provide you with a 24 hour help desk, and you will be assigned a personal tutor to assist you with any queries.
There is also access to 8,000 + overseas job.
Once you have completed the initial 20 hour course, you can opt to add on
extra hours in person or online. This will further increase your experience
and skills, in return for better job prospects and a higher salary.

English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)
Improving your English can help you get more out of your life in the UK. It will also help if you want to study, improve your CV, or apply to become a British citizen.
- Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages course (TESOL)
includes TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language ) and TESL ( Teaching English as a Second Language)
- Chinese Languages
Mandarin Chinese classes are available for Adults. No previous knowledge of the Chinese language is needed. Many adults will find this extremely useful especially as China is a developing nation within the World; there are many career opportunities in this field. A textbook is available which focuses on the four main skills in language, Speaking, Listening, Writing and Reading.
- Life in UK citizenship test
One of the main purposes of our Centre is to make migrants feel more welcome and to allow them to adapt to their new lives in England more easily. Here we provide ESOL English lessons and Life in UK citizenship tests which can help their citizenship and allow them to develop their skills in communicating with the English locals. Here they will achieve complete acceptance and have the opportunity to meet new people in similar situations. English Corner (Monday to Thursday) and Chinese and English Exchange Corner (Sunday 11-1pm only) is also available in partnerships with high schools so both volunteers and students can gain experience and knowledge
